Call for Health Reform Now

2 February 2010 in For Healthcare | Comments (1)

My 15 year old cousin was dropped from her mother’s health insurance coverage following major heart surgery. Her mother then got a $2 million dollar medical bill! Rising health insurance cost are raising our local taxes. Please call Senators Specter 215 597-7200 and Casey 866-802-2833 now to urge them to approve health reform now with a government insurance option to compete against the big insurers and reduce costs.

The possibility that an effective health reform bill is very real, if public opinion as reflected in recent polls does not change. Those of us who support health reform can help prevent such an outcome if we are well-organized and actively mobilized around the truth to counteract the misinformation campaign of the insurance industry and radical right that has successfully swayed public support against reform. To that end I have agreed to host an Organizing for America (OFA) strategy session in my home on Saturday, March 6, 2010. The meeting will be held from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and will be facilitated by an OFA representative. My address is 1939 Fawn Drive. All Cheltenham residents are invited to attend, especially those residing in the Laverock subdivision. We can be the change we voted for when we elected President Barack Obama to lead us. Now is the time for organized activism. Robert Brown
